how does it work? |
Students who meet the qualifications for MSL-9 will be sought out by an administrator to complete the application and interview process. Students that are accepted will be placed in the MSL-9 program, with the expectations to participate fully, work hard in all classes, earn passing grades, keep up attendance, exhibit proper behavior, demonstrate persistence and determination and serve as positive role models for their peers.
Students in the MSL-9 Academy take five core subjects and two electives. All core instruction occurs in one self-contained classroom, with two highly qualified teachers present for instruction. This program provides a 7th grade student course work designed to cover the critical TEKS from 7th and 8th grade curriculum. Core instruction will be both web-based and utilize Project-based Learning. Instruction will include a variety of methods from large to small group instruction, as well as one-on-one. |
